Paris Cravings: A Paris & Pastry Novel by Kimberley Montpetit

“Dear Diary:
I have a confession to make: I’ve become a total idiot over French pastries.
They’re my new favorite food.
My new-found edible souvenir.
My new favorite sin.
Dunkin Donuts is so yesterday.”

*A delicious and romantic novel set in Paris by Amazon #1 Best Selling Author for Christian Romance

Chloe Dillard’s life has always been complicated. Her mother is a neurotic romance novelist and her boyfriend, Mathew, has been pressuring her to go “all the way”.

But after The Worst Night of Her Life, Chloe escapes on her Senior Class trip to the swoon-worthy city of Paris which takes her mind off her troubles—temporarily. On the final leg of her dream trip, Chloe squeezes in one final run for a last-minute box of decadent pastries. Add a broken shop door, subtract a broken four-inch heel from her cute strappy sandals, and Chloe ends up one stuck girl on the bakery shop floor with a sprained ankle.

Rescued by the shop owner’s dreamy son with chocolate-syrup eyes, the beautiful city of Paris suddenly becomes Chloe’s personal secret adventure. And even though Jean-Paul, the oh-so-kind La Patisserie shop boy is the gentlemanly guy Chloe has always dreamed of, even he has a girlfriend.

The police are tracking her down as a run-away, Mom’s having a nervous breakdown over her daughter’s “disappearance”, and Chloe’s just trying to have a Happily-Ever-After even as her dreams with Matt are swirling down the drain.

Could being lost in the city of Paris be just what the doctor ordered? What’s a girl to do in the most romantic city in the world?

Paris, Romance, Pastries, and Kissing . . . Can life really turn on a dime, a missed bus—or a stuck pastry shop door?

About the Author
Kimberley Montpetit once spent all her souvenir money at the La Patisserie shops when she was in Paris—on the arm of her adorable husband. The author grew up in San Francisco, another swoon-worthy city, but currently lives in a small town along the Rio Grande with her big, messy family. Kimberley reads a book a day to fill up her heart and soul with words. Then she fills her stomach with chocolate chip cookies while she revises. But it can be any baked goodies; brownies, éclairs, donuts, tarts, pie, she’s not picky! Traveling and research are another hunger Kimberley cannot ignore. So far, she’s stayed in the haunted tower room at Borthwick Castle in Scotland, sailed on the Seine in Paris, swam in the waters at Cannes, ridden a camel among the glorious cliffs of Petra, sunbathed on Waikiki, shopped the maze of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, and spent the night in an old Communist hotel in Bulgaria.

MY REVIEW (4 /5 stars): I fell in love with the city of Paris. I see why it is my son’s favorite city in the world —its lights, sweets, sights, and mystical romance. This author created the perfect recipe for this book by putting in the ingredients of romance, a tour of Paris, nice teenagers, a bakery, and unending bends and surprises.

I love the quote and pictures that I had to post them as the romance just rolls off as Paris just oozes it all over. This poor girl, Chloe didn’t have a chance trying to get away from her cheating ex-boyfriend, Matt. Paris have these gorgeous French guys that will just adore and eat you up if you are not careful with your heart.

Imagine Chloe meets a guy at the end of her trip, what are the odds that they have a quick romance and later can pick right back up if desired. One thing though, Chloe found what her dream is due to what she found she loved in Paris. She follows through and the surprises that follow are worth it.

The only thing I recommend is not find all of these yummy pastries that the author describes. Just think of the pounds that pastries can do but it is also so worth it at times. They sound so sinfully delicious!!!! I just don’t want them next to me while i read as I have the habit of munching and don’t even know how much as I get absorbed in a book. This author will put you into the story and keep you there as it is a fun easy read. You will not want to put it down till it is done. So go enjoy:)
